Biography

Cristian Van Schuerbeck was born in Santiago, Chile in 1982 – He currently lives in England.

He started playing the piano at a very early age, his father a music collector delivered a wide variety of music for him to listen to, specially British rocks bands from the 70’s like Emerson Lake & Palmer, Yes and Led Zeppelin.

Cristian became very interested and inspired by the music of Keith Emerson at age 6, since then he has been exploring his music at many different levels. Cristian met Keith in 2010 at the Wembley Arena in London, Helater became Keith Emerson’s grandson Ethan Emerson piano teacher and a very good friend of the Emerson family.

In 2004 Cristian was invited by the American band All Too Human to join them on tour in Europe, performing also at the renowed Prog Power Europe Festival among other venues in the Netherlands. Cristian has also joined a few bands in Scotland the same year as part of his discovery in the European music scene. He also met many wonderful people doing guest apprereances at Piano Bars across the UK.

He released the album entitled My Experiences in 2005 as a result of all the inspiration adquired visiting many european cities such as Edinburgh, London, Paris, Brussels and Amsterdam. Later on that year also released a Celtic music album entitled Celtic Thoughts.

In 2007 Cristian moved to Paris – France where he specialised in music production and composition.

A couple of years later Cristian moved to London England where he produced many artists and also stablished his music teaching business, giving music education to hundreds of students on the first year.

In 2009 Cristian performed with Biomortal at Bloodstock Open Air

In 2010 Cristian was asked to record a solo on the son Heaven’s Falling by Progressive Rock act Aeon Zen and another solo on the track The Face of the Unkown. Cristian performed as a session musician for Aeon Zen on their debut appereance at the Luminaire in London. A wonderful review of Cristian performance was found at the Progressive Rock Magazine.

Cristian performed the music of Rick Wakeman, Asia and Yes at Trading Boundaries in 2010 and 2011 as a complement of Roger Dean’s Exhibition.

In 2012 Cristian became a father and has focused on growing his music teaching business and looking after his family as a priority.

Since 2012 Cristian has composed music for adverts like the ARCKIT and other projects for private individuals.

In 2018 Cristian recorded Ethan Emerson The Dreamer to be found now on spotify.

In 2019 Cristian produced and recorded Ethan and Aaron Emerson on keyboards for Fanfare for the Common Man a cover recorded for an Emerson Lake Tribute album.

Cristian is the owner of Piano Lessons at Home. A platform that helps parents and beginners to choose the right tools and approach to learn piano.

He is currently working on the release of a new album and hopefully you are able to hear his new work sometime in 2021.
